The MDGC Junior Section is committed to promoting Junior Golf at all levels for both male and female junior players in a child friendly environment.
The Junior Sub-Committee are dedicated to ensuring that all junior players are able to participate and develop in a happy and safe environment.
The MDGC has been awarded the Golf Mark High Achievers status for our
organisation and support to Junior Golfers.
MDGC Junior Golf Academy
We provide a well structured programme of training, coaching, long term development and competition through the Junior Golf Academy.
The JGA meets on Tuesday evenings from 17.15 to 18.45pm commencing in April through to September. The annual programme of 24 sessions is lead by the Club Professional Russell Clewes and delivered by PGA qualified coaches and enthusiastic and committed volunteers. Players are able to develop their golf skills and learn about the etiquette, safety and rules of golf.
A calendar of Inter Club and internal competitions and matches are organised for all levels of ability and experience.
Junior Squad
The Junior Academy also provides additional coaching and competitions for selected male and female junior players who show the necessary ability, maturation and commitment to playing at a higher level.

Each of the Junior Academy Competition Days will include a competition for each group of Junior Academy players:
