There's never been a better time to join.
Here's a selection of the benefits our members enjoy

Beautiful Golf Course

Our course is a truly picturesque 18-holes set in a most beautiful area of rural North Shropshire. We are also Club Mark accredited which is the universally acknowledged cross sport accreditation scheme for community sports clubs.

Levels of membership

The club offers a wide range of memberships to suit all needs.

Full membership is probably one of the lowest priced in the whole of Shropshire and many counties nearby. But we still have a range of offers to encourage new members to join our club. These include trial, second club and country memberships, as well as discount offers for the introduction of new members. We also provide a service to pay your fees monthly.

Our junior memberships are very competitive and are free in the first year for the children and grandchildren of members.

We offer corporate membership for companies in the surrounding area and there many sponsorship opportunities.

Seniors' Section

There is an active seniors' section that plays a programme of friendly matches against clubs in Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. During the season, which runs from March until October, the seniors will play some 30 matches, together with their own club competitions and open event. The starting age for senior status is 55 but many members are still playing into their 80s.

Juniors' Section

Market Drayton Junior Academy generally runs from the first Saturday in March with the afternoon sessions open to all boys and girls ages 5 to 17. Academy lead is club professional James Wright, father of two girls, who will head up the coaching assisted by experienced volunteers. Past years have seen great successful for the academy with juniors representing the Shropshire and Hereford counties and competing in the county junior league for the first time.  The club is accredited with the Golf Mark High Achievers award by Golf England.

Juniors play on a special nine-hole academy course and in addition to the Saturday afternoons, there are a “Role up and Play” sessions on Monday evenings.

Ladies' Section

The ladies' section at Market Drayton is substantial. There's a warm and friendly welcome for new members. They hold a variety of friendly matches and competitions throughout the year and also play in the Shropshire golf leagues and local alliances. The ladies are also heavily involved in social events and fundraisers.

1906 Club

The 1906 Club is an innovation attracting member clubs who were established in 1906. The idea is to provide free golf to clubs outside of a 50-mile radius of your home club. This is a major advantage and great for golfing holidays. Normally rounds are free and bookings are made by prior arrangement.

Matches and reciprocal clubs

We have an active match programme with other clubs for men's, seniors, ladies and couples. There are reciprocal arrangements with three clubs offering discounts for our golfers. There is participation in local golf alliances with North Staffs and Clwyd and Borders giving even more playing opportunities.

Birthday Bonus

Each member gets a special birthday treat from the club. Our BIRTHDAY BONUS is a round for you and three guests for free. Also there is the option of two for one on both food in the clubhouse and coaching with our professional James Wright.

Coaching studio and lessons

The club has invested in a state-of-the-art coaching studio for club fitting and lessons under the watchful eye of our professional James Wright. Located next to our practice area this is proving popular and is available to members at special rates.

Social events

There are many social events organised during the playing year focused around the clubhouse - bridge sessions. pilates and indoor bowls. Every two years the club holds its own version of the Ryder Cup and although this involves golf, the social side is fundamental to its success. Other events include winter carveries, celebrations and fun nights.

Dynamic Website

A major advance has been the introduction of an interactive website which is a major source of information and communication. It provides members with on-line booking, course information, handicap record, scoring history, playing analysis and much more.
