Julie Hunter, who has lived in the town for 25 years, is the new steward at the club with her son Ethan as bar manager.
Mum-of-four, Julie, has big plans for hospitality and has already appointed a chef, Terry Downes, who has restaurant experience in North Wales.
They will be operating the catering under the brand name:
“I want to run the clubhouse, so all members can enjoy food and drink before or after a game, or just come along socially to relax,” said Julie
Julie’s parents ran public houses in the Potteries and she has worked in Sweden and Italy as a nanny, but more recently passed catering qualifications and has been involved in catering at local schools.
“I would love to see schools coming along to the club, getting involved in the sport and enjoying the facilities at the club. It’s also got to be a place for families where all visitors feel welcome.
“I am also working with the club with the intention of putting on private functions, making the place tick as a go-to-venue for the town and further afield.”
Vice-captain John Cushing, who takes office as Captain on January 20 said: “Julie and her team are assets to the club and we will be working with her to ensure the on-going success of our day-to-day catering and social events.”
